There’s something that feels almost unfair when the two smartest kids in the class get paired up to work on a group project together. Despite your best efforts, you know their presentation is going to outshine everyone else in a few weeks.

New technology from Austrian engineering company Mettop looks set to change the game when it comes to water-cooling molten metal. Mettop’s patented ILTEC technology is the result of several years of research activities into the feasibility of using ionic liquid IL-B2001 to replace water in cooling technology designs.
The end result is a tailor-made solution that is starting to turn heads around the world. Superior liquid temperatures, higher safety levels and better heat recovery are the key features leading the way for the new technology that’s starting to roll out worldwide.
Siquay Solutions is excited to announce its partnerships with Mettop, WeCo and UrbanGold. This partnership aims to bring about multiple benefits to the mining and mineral processing industries in Australia. Benefits include improved durability, sustainability and recycling, and efficiency in the use of copper.
Bag filters v cartridge filters – which is better? It’s a bit like The Rumble in the Jungle, which pitted Muhammad Ali versus Joe Frazier, or on the silver screen Rocky taking on Apollo Creed. Bag filters versus cartridge filters – what is the better technology?
Melbourne – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread worldwide and devastate healthcare systems in many countries. Businesses and individuals alike are planning what steps they can take once lockdown
To ensure your machinery is operating at optimal performance you need to ensure that all fluid systems are clean and unworn. With several fluid systems contributing to the operation of machinery, you need to minimise foreign bodies and the effects they can have on your engine. Foreign bodies such as dust or grit can adhere to surfaces, where it can
-block tubes restricting fluid flow
-cover surfaces reducing thermal conductivity for cooling
-embed between moving surfaces causing abrasion in the engine
Keeping your diesel particulate filter (DPF) clean will save you thousands in the long run. Did you know just under 1kg of unburnt ash can be stuck inside a dirty DPF? When your filter is full, it can cause a series of major problems for your vehicles, including: increased downtime for regeneration (the burning of ash in your DPF), reduced fuel economy, loss of horsepower, serious damage to your DPF and eventually damage to your engine.
As powerful as the moving parts of mining machinery are, a small amount of dust can damage them, yet the movement of ore creates a huge amount of dust. Therefore, air filters are used within this equipment to filter out the dust and pollutants to avoid impeding their performance. Air filters are used in crushing and grinding machinery, loaders and trucks to name a few. Considering the amount of dust that these filters see, they need replacing pretty regularly. The replacement has to be incorporated into maintenance schedules, which is costly. Installing new filters is expensive and timely, not to mention the strain that they put on the environment when going into landfill.
